Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who loved music. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves Tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. Her mother taught her to sing, but she started more intense vocal training through Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she was a part of various chamber groups as well as opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. When she moved from Mexico to America around 2000, she performed for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She's a regular solo performer at events, private parties and other occasions, performing classical Latin American Music. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing keep her engaged with a variety of local initiatives as a performer and teacher. Ana has also been a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is grateful for being able to share her passion and enthusiasm for traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to impart a desire particularly among the younger generation to keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
